Tampa Bay uses shootout to best Palm Beach Hawks, 3-2

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Tampa Juniors defeated Palm Beach Hawks in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams.

 

Tampa Juniors was helped by Jared Goudreau, who racked up one goal. Goudreau scored 6:27 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Tampa Juniors. Paul Lochner assisted on the tally. Chase Anderson also scored for Tampa Juniors. In addition, Tampa Juniors received assists from Ben Winter, who had one and Brenden Rogers, who had two.

Palm Beach Hawks' offense rang up 40 shots on Tampa Juniors' net. Palm Beach Hawks struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 16 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays.

Palm Beach Hawks was helped by John Smith, who grabbed one goal. Smith scored 11:31 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Anthony Campanella provided the assist. Palm Beach Hawks also got a goal from Brandon Desrosiers as well. Other players who recorded assists for Palm Beach Hawks were Chip DeFelice, Matt Geib, and CJ Hoy, who contributed one a piece.

Tampa Juniors' Braxton Schulz stopped 38 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Tampa Juniors incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Shayne Dietl rejected 27 shots on goal for Palm Beach Hawks. Palm Beach Hawks registered one goal on two power play opportunities.
