Knights downs East Coast Eagles in overtime

George Gerasimou gave Atlanta Jr. Knights a 4-3 (OT) victory over East Coast Eagles when he scored 1:41 into the extra period.

 

Atlanta Jr. Knights was sparked by Gerasimou, who finished with one goal.

East Coast Eagles was unable to stop Atlanta Jr. Knights from sending pucks towards the net, and Atlanta Jr. Knights eventually piled up 59 shots on goal.

Jordan Landwehr also scored for Atlanta Jr. Knights. More assists for Atlanta Jr. Knights came via Daniel HuntingtonKenny Coleman, and Daniel Fendius, who contributed one a piece.

East Coast Eagles forced Atlanta Jr. Knights goalie Brandon Haase to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The defensemen of East Coast Eagles were also effective in Atlanta Jr. Knights' zone, and came away with two goals.

East Coast Eagles was helped by Daniel Sabato, who had one goal. Sabato scored on the power play 2:57 into the third period to make the score 3-3. East Coast Eagles had taken the advantage when Atlanta Jr. Knights' Michael Farino got sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Edward Parsons picked up the assist. East Coast Eagles additionally got points from Parsons, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. East Coast Eagles also got a goal from Nathaniel Thiemann as well. Haase recorded 31 saves for Atlanta Jr. Knights. Atlanta Jr. Knights incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and had no power play opportunities. Nicholas Poulos made 55 saves for East Coast Eagles on 59 shots. East Coast Eagles finished the contest with no penalties and went 1-for-4 with the man advantage.
