Eels downs Hurricanes in overtime

Florida Eels' Tom Doverhjelm scored 2:16 into overtime to beat Space Coast Hurricanes, 3-2 (OT).

 

Florida Eels was led by Doverhjelm, who registered one goal and one assist.

Florida Eels forced Space Coast Hurricanes' goalies to work in net, getting 33 shots and forcing 30 saves. Parker Bonis made 21 stops and Nicholas Wayland made nine. Florida Eels put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Space Coast Hurricanes to score on any of its three power plays.

Florida Eels additionally got points from Zachery Mudge, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Samuel Stone, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Florida Eels received assists from Trent McDougall, who had one.

Space Coast Hurricanes was led by Jack Musil, who tallied one goal and one assist. Musil scored 16:08 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Florida Eels. Andrew Bathgateprovided the assist. Crissostomos Villarreal also scored for Space Coast Hurricanes. More assists for Space Coast Hurricanes came via Johnny Murray and Garrett Gunski, who contributed one a piece.

Christopher James rejected 28 shots on goal for Florida Eels. Florida Eels incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors and had no power play opportunities. Space Coast Hurricanes incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
